About the piece
The most impatient moment of Christmas Eve: stockings hung over the fireplace, waiting to be filled. Four hang from a lit pine garland: a red one with gold stitching, a green one with a candy cane peeking out, a striped one, and a cobalt one with a nazar bead at its heart. On a warm dark ground their white cuffs stand out.
Long and narrow, it suits a mantelpiece, a console or the wall above a sofa; one stocking for each of a family of four.
